Descripción / Abstract
Der Beitrag prüft die Prämissen der Konzipierung der Soziologie als multiparadigmatische Wissenschaft. Er zeigt, dass Kuhns Position auf einer emergentistischen Evolutionstheorie basiert, die einen romantischen Pluralismus inkommensurabler Theorien erzeugt. Er zeigt weiter, dass diese Position weder philosophisch noch empirisch haltbar ist, sodass sich ihre Gegenposition empfiehlt: d.h. die Vereinheitlichung der Wissenschaft durch Theoriereduktion.

Paradigms, Incommensurability, and Emergence: Kuhn´s Structure as a Problem for Sociology
This entry investigates the premises of the conceptualization of sociology as a multiparadigmatic science. It shows that Kuhn´s position is based upon a theory of emergent evolution that produces a romantic pluralism of incommensurable theories. It shows, too, that this position is neither valid in a philosophical nor in an empirical sense. Therefore, it is recommendable to work with its counter-position: i.e. the unification of science by means of theory reduction.
