Beschreibung / Abstract
Abstract: This article deals with the question of which impulses the paradigm of intersectionality holds in store for special needs and inclusive education. Intersectionality addresses the interdependence between social inequalities, forms of governing, and standardised conditions such as disability, gender, ethnicity or social circumstances. As it is a relatively new research paradigm, the article concentrates on identifying potential connecting points between research into intersectionality and special needs education or inclusive education. A potential link in particular exists to Disability Studies. Finally, the potential limitations of the paradigm in special needs and inclusive pedagogy are discussed.
Keywords: Intersectionality, social inequality, discrimination, disability studies
