Zusammenfassung: Internationale Verlautbarungen zum Thema Behinderung bedürfen der Adaption an nationale Gegebenheiten, die durch historisch-kulturelle und gesellschaftspolitische Bedingungen und Entwicklungen geprägt sind. Dies wird exemplarisch entfaltet am Beispiel des europäischen Nachbarn Frankreich und diskutiert in seiner Relevanz für die Debatte um schulische Inklusion in Deutschland.

Abstract: International statements about disability need to be adapted to national circumstances which are shaped by historical, cultural, and societal conditions and developments. This will be exemplarily presented with the example of our European neighbour France and discussed in its relevance for the debate about inclusion in Germany.
