Beschreibung / Abstract
Parent counseling in educational, non-school institutions by educational employees has received little attention in the academic world so far. Although daycare centers are constantly evolving, any advisory work of the employees continues to be a "two-for-one ancillary activity" that is possibly worth being preserved, in any case, worth being researched. This paper sheds light on counseling as a form of pedagogical activity by educators from different angles, assesses the current situation, and takes a glimpse at a possible theoretical framework for the future. At this paper´s core stands the elementary question whether educators are qualified to advise parents at all, whether they are allowed to or even should advise parents at all.
