Beschreibung / Abstract
This paper focuses on the theoretical analysis of the term resilience. On the background of the primary context and significance of resilience, recent definitions and uses of the term within the Educational Science of the German speaking area will be investigated. Based on relevant research articles, the theoretical study outlines that an uncritical use of the term resilience can generate pedagogical implications without empirical evidence. Furthermore the term can be abused for ideological and political purposes. The analysis demonstrates that the current terminology is insufficient and does not allow drawing generalizations for the pedagogical praxis.
