Der Beitrag rekonstruiert am Beispiel einer Türschwelle zwischen Büroraum und Gemeinschaftsräumen, wie sich in der Heimerziehung pädagogische als generationale Ordnungen verräumlichen. Mit den Mitteln einer relationalen Raumanalyse wird der Frage nach der Konstituierung sozialpädagogischer Orte empirisch-rekonstruktiv nachgegangen. Im Sinne eines relationalen Verständnisses von Agency handelt es sich hierbei nicht um das Ergebnis isoliert und intentional handelnder Sozialpädagog_innen, sondern um das Resultat gemeinsamer Praktiken von Erwachsenen, Jugendlichen aber auch nicht-menschlicher Akteur_innen. Der oft beschriebene Doppelcharakter von Heimerziehung zwischen Organisation und Privatheit lässt sich im Ergebnis nicht als systeminhärente Dichotomie beschreiben, sondern als räumlich-soziale Hervorbringungsleistung. Die Türschwelle ist in territorial situierte Praktiken involviert, die eine Hybridisierung von Heimerziehung als einem sozialpädagogischen Ort erst bewirken. Analysing the example of a threshold the article explores how pedagogic orders are enacted as generational orders in residential child care. In doing so a relational concept of space offers the potential to describe empirically how social pedagogical places are constituted. According to a relational understanding of agency this is not a result of isolated and intentionally acting care workers, but of a joint enactment of adults, young people and non-human actors. As a result the often described dual-nature of residential child care between organisation and privacy is not so much a pregiven ´structural´ feature but more something which is brought into being in the actual and mundane doings in time and space. The threshold becomes part of spatially situated practices, which lead to a hybridisation of residential child care as a social pedagogical place.
