Der Einfluss der Herkunftsfamilie auf die Bildungskarriere gilt in der Sozialisations- und Bildungsforschung als gut belegt. Kaum untersucht jedoch ist in Deutschland der Zusammenhang zwischen Familienklima und Schulerfolg. Anhand einer repräsentativen Stichprobe von 1744 Familien mit 14- bis 17-jährigen Jugendlichen wird in diesem Beitrag, unter Berücksichtigung des sozio-ökonomischen Status, der Einfluss des sozio-emotionalen Klimas in den Herkunftsfamilien auf den Schul - erfolg der Adoleszenten untersucht. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass das Familienklima in sozial schwächer gestellten Familien häufiger dysfunktional ist. Ein Zusammenhang zwischen Familienklima und Schulerfolg kann aufgezeigt werden. The influence of the family on the educational career is well-documented in socialization and education research. The relation between family climate and school success, however, has been scarcely investigated in Germany. Based on a representative sample of 1744 families with 14- to 17-year-old adolescents, this article examines the impact of the socio-emotional climate in these families on the adolescents ´school success, taking their socio-economic status into account. The results show that the family climate is often dysfunctional in socially disadvantaged families. They further reveal a connection between family climate and school success.
