Zusammenfassung: Dieser Beitrag zielt auf die Rekonstruktion elterlicher Perspektiven auf den Alltag im Frankfurter Bahnhofsviertel, einem sehr heterogenen und urbanen Stadtteil. Auf Basis empirischer Ergebnisse aus dem ethnografischen Forschungsprojekt "Urbane Lernräume" wird herausgearbeitet, wie sich das urbane Leben auf Alltagsbedingungen von Müttern und Vätern auswirkt und welche Herausforderungen sie in diesem Zusammenhang markieren. Vertiefend wird darauf eingegangen, wie die Eltern die Herausforderungen in Bezug auf ihren Familienalltag verhandeln und sich darüber als ‚urbane Eltern´ und ‚urbane Familie´ konstituieren. Abschließend wird die Frage aufgeworfen, wie urbane Elternschaft und darauf bezogene Konstitutionsprozesse mit sozialer Ungleichheit verbunden sind.

Abstract: This article aims to reconstruct parental perspectives on everyday-life in a very heterogeneous and urban Frankfurt city district. Based on empirical findings from the ethnographic research project "Urban Learning Spaces", the authors elaborate how urban life influences everyday conditions of mothers and fathers and what challenges they mark in this context. Furthermore, a close look will be taken at how the parents negotiate the challenges regarding their everyday family life and how they constitute themselves as ´urban parents´ and ´urban family´. The article concludes with considerations about how urban parenthood and related constitution processes are linked to social inequality.
