Description / Abstract
Der Beitrag berichtet von einem laufenden Forschungsprojekt zu Lern- und Reflexionsprozessen auf dem Jakobsweg. Die qualitative Längsschnittstudie schließt an eine Pilgerstudie an, in der die biografischen Ausgangskonstellationen von Jakobspilgern untersucht wurden. In typischen Lebenssituationen pilgern Menschen auf dem Jakobsweg, um in der Außeralltäglichkeit und im Gespräch mit anderen Pilgernden biografische Krisen und Umbrüche zu verarbeiten. Erste Ergebnisse der laufenden Folgestudie zeigen, dass Pilgern ein durch außeralltägliche Kontrast- und Kommunikationserfahrungen begleiteter Lernprozess ist, der zu lebensgeschichtlichen und berufsbiografischen Veränderungen führen kann.

This article presents the first results of an ongoing research project on learning and reflecting processes on the Way of St. James. The qualitative longitudinal study is followed by a pilgrim´s study, in which the biographical source patterns of pilgrims were investigated. People decide to go on pilgrimage in typical situations to process life crises and radical life changes through having an exceptional experience and through talking with other pilgrims. Initial results of the study show that pilgrimage is a learning process accompanied by exceptional contrast and communication experiences that can lead to life and work changes.
