Description / Abstract

It will explore the expectations of principals on the possbilities of implementing inclusive education within a context of contradicting institutional, organisational, and individual specifications, the reasons for that expectations and which students with special educational needs are actually being supported by the school principals. The examination of school principals´ actions is based on the analysis of empirical data derived from an ongoing three-year research project. The findings describe ongoing recontextualisation processes in the context of implementing inclusive education in secondary schools. Keywords: inclusion, principals, recontextualisation, school development, secondary education
