Description / Abstract

Zusammenfassung: Der Beitrag ist Teil eines Promotionsprojekts, das sich mit dem Übergang von der Schule in das nachschulische Leben von Absolventinnen und Absolventen der Förderschule mit dem Förderschwerpunkt emotionale und soziale Entwicklung beschäftigt. Es wurden narrativ-biographische Interviews geführt, die mit der Narrationsanalyse nach Schütze (1983) und der Modifikation nach Rosenthal (1995, 2014) ausgewertet wurden. Exemplarisch soll ein Interview mit einem Jugendlichen namens Walid unter dem Aspekt "Männlichkeit´ betrachtet werden, deren Betonung für Walid als eine biographische Bewältigungsstrategie betrachtet werden kann.

Abstract: This case study is part of a research project that focuses on transitions from school to post school arrangements. The target audience are students with emotional and behavioural disorders and visit special needs schools. As other research projects already showed this group faces extreme challenges with making a vocational choices. All interviews were conducted and analysed with the methodology of the narrative-biographical interview (Schütze 1983) and Rosenthal´s modification (1995, 2014). The case study of this young man called Walid shows that the aspect of masculinity aroused during the process of the analysis. Furthermore this study looks into the biographical meaning for Walid of presenting himself in a hegemonic masculine way. This aspect is considered as a coping strategy, which Walid uses during this phase of transition.
