Description / Abstract
Abstract: Hearing impaired students attending mainstream schools in Bavaria still do this on an individual basis. Therefore, support by the peripatetic service for the hearing impaired is essential. The article gives insight in a research project of the Institute of Education of the Deaf and the Hearing Impaired at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich: Students with hearing impairment were interviewed in focused group discussions about their experiences and concerns with regard to the support by their peripatetic service. Out of the large amount of results, the focus is on the aspects regarding student-centered counseling.
Keywords: peripatetic service for the hearing impaired, integration of hearing impaired students, focused group discussion, student-centered counseling
