Description / Abstract

Abstract: This article focuses on how the Bologna Process has affected the institutional organisation of education studies with regard to the academic courses offered. A full survey of current study programmes, based on structure and content factors, discusses and compares the enduring visibility of education studies and sociology within the academic world. The extent to which this enduring visibility manifests itself as disciplinary processes of differentiation and transition is also discussed. The changing labels of academic courses, as well as study program patterns determined by cluster analysis, are shown here as the products of changed practices of boundary-work in both disciplines.
