Description / Abstract
Zusammenfassung: Das gegenwärtig hohe wissenschaftliche und politische Interesse an frühpädagogischen Fragestellungen in der Bundesrepublik hat einen Vorläufer in den 1960er- und 1970er-Jahren. Der Aufsatz arbeitet mit inhaltsanalytischen Methoden heraus, wie intensiv die frühpädagogische Forschungsdebatte in dieser Phase war, und verknüpft dies mit historischen Befunden zum bildungspolitischen Optimismus dieser Zeit. Abschließend werden Erklärungen für das Ende der "frühpädagogischen Euphorie" etwa Mitte der 1970er-Jahre gesucht. Dazu zählen Misserfolgs-Wahrnehmungen in der akademischen Disziplin, der Widerstand von Beschäftigten und Trägern der Kindertageseinrichtungen sowie die Resignation der bildungspolitischen Akteure.

Abstract: The strong scientific and political interest which is currently shown with regard to issues of early childhood education in the Federal Republic of Germany has a predecessor dating back to the 1960s and 70s. On the basis of content-analytical methods, the author shows how intense the research debate on early childhood education had been during that phase and draws a connection to historical findings on the education-political optimism of that time. In a final part, he investigates reasons for the end of the "early- educational euphoria" around the mid-70s. As possible explanations he identifies perceived failures within the academic discipline, resistance by employees and sponsors of day-care institutions as well as a feeling of resignation among education-political actors.
