Description / Abstract

-- -- In case pupils attract attention due to difficulties in learning it is necessary to look for educational supportive measures. To make an adequate diagnosis mainly medical and psychological methods can be used. These methods are evaluated critically for pedagogical decisions in this abstract. In the field of pedagogics at special schools it is evident for many years that these methods are not really useful for pupils - they only classify pupils within learning groups but do not really consider pupils in need of help. Nowadays more and more schools tend to make a diagnosis with the main emphasis on individual support. This kind of diagnosis is described in this abstract and serves to give first ideas how to continue the development of the pedagogical diagnosis as an autonomous pedagogical method. -- --
