Description / Abstract

In our article, we reply to the comments by Mayr et al. and Schaarschmidt in this volume. We clarify the understanding of the function of self-assessments by saying that their instruments assess the suitability for the teaching profession. Therefore, we underline the high demands on the psychometric properties of self-assessment instruments. Finally, we discuss aspects of the implementation of our own empirical study and the analysis of our data. Keywords: self-assessments, aptitude testing, teaching profession
