This study explores the role of Vietnamese migrant self-organizations (V-MSOs) in Germany, focusing on their engagement with intergenerational relations and migration-related social orders. Drawing from childhood sociology and migration studies, the study examines how these organizations address young people and how they construct generational arrangements, particularly between first-generation migrants and their German-born descendants. Based on the in-depth analysis of 10 V-MSO websites, the research identifies three key narratives—cultural preservation, social mobility, and negotiation—that represent the various yet interconnected approaches through which V-MSOs shape intergenerational relationships and position young Viet-Germans within both the generational order and the broader social order of the migration society. The study is one of the few to analyze intergenerational positioning within MSOs rather than just in family contexts. It thus adds to the question of how migrant organizations function as a shaping force in society and contributes to understanding the entanglements of migration society and generational order.
