Beschreibung / Abstract

This paper discusses the continuity and change in the nature of inter-organisational cooperation in the field of adult education from an organisational-pedagogical perspective. This topic has attracted a lot of (political) attention in the last decade within the context of promoting and improving lifelong learning. The paper highlights some empirical findings from an ethnographic study within a network of adult education organisations and its specific culture of cooperation. This culture demonstrates the effects of common identity and stability, but also the capability for organisational development and change. The findings show how this specific culture of cooperation evokes options for organisational learning processes for the individual adult education organisations involved, as well as for the interaction and cooperation in the network itself.
