In der vorliegenden Untersuchung wird das verfügbare Wissen über 24-Stunden-Kitas in Deutschland zusammengestellt. Im Anschluss wird eine empirische Untersuchung vorgestellt, in der in einer ersten Erhebungsphase alle Landesjugendämter in Deutschland kontaktiert und in einer zweiten Erhebungsphase Interviews mit Einrichtungsleitungen von fünf 24-Stunden-Kitas geführt wurden. Die erhobenen Daten wurden anhand der Grounded Theory kodiert und ausgewertet. Auf Basis der Untersuchungsergebnisse werden weiterführende Forschungsfragen zu 24-Stunden-Kitas entwickelt.

In the present study, the current knowledge about 24-hour day care centers in Germany is compiled. This is followed by an empirical study in which, in a first inquiry phase, the regional youth welfare departments in Germany were contacted and, in a second inquiry phase, interviews with experts from five 24-hour day care centers were held. The collected data was coded and analyzed using the Grounded Theory. Based on the results, further research questions about 24-hour day care centers will be generated.
