Beschreibung / Abstract
Now that talk of a "social-pedagogical century" (Hans Thiersch) has proved to be
megalomaniacal, we should perhaps content ourselves with the concept of a "social-
pedagogical decade" from 1965 to 1975 which tried to implement the "ideas of
1968" in practical social work. The failure of this project is the subject of this article,
which also addresses the unpalatable arguments of the enemies of the ´68ers.
The controversy between the Nazi-tainted youth-movement veteran Theodor Wilhelm
and the student-movement sympathizer Klaus Mollenhauer, a pupil of Erich Weniger,
serves to highlight the issues in the conflict.
