Beschreibung / Abstract

In this contribution a micro-political approach focuses on human behavior in organizations as power-based negotiation. Because micro-political behavior reduces uncertainty, it is a fundamental mode of interaction especially in times of organizational change - in empirical reality as well as in expert analysis. By scrutinizing the role of change, this study reconstructs micro-politics within an adult education center during a period of organizational development. The inquiry is based on interviews with the head and the staff of the institution. The study concludes that micro-politics plays a pivotal role in professionality in adult education. The conclusion is that increased consideration should be paid to this concept, especially in the analysis of organizational trajectories. -- --
